Version 1.2 — 21 November 2004:

• Added preference setting to periodically refresh the gamma setting. This may be used to preserve your gamma settings during and after screen saver activation.
• Fixed bug where quitting would not fade the gamma smoothly if a preset had not previously been selected.
• Updated documentation.
• Moved “Check for Updates...” to the “Special” menu.
• Added Special -> Usage menu to display DarkAdapted’s total launches and running time.
• Added Preference to automatically check for updates every week, every month, or manually.
• Added Donate window which offers an opportunity to donate to support program development. Window may be summoned by selecting the Special -> Donate... menu item. Window automatically appears after 10 launches or 24 hours of program usage, and then may be postponed for a week or instructed never to be shown again.
• Fixed bug introduced in 1.2b1 where using the gamma toggle keys to return to a non-preset gamma would cause the Presets pop-up menu to still display “Full Brightness.”
• Improved launch speed.
• Decreased application size.
• Increased application speed.
• Adjusted memory requirements for Classic Mac OS (requires Mac OS 8.6 or later).
• Internet Update: Add preference to check for available pre-release versions. Fixed help tags in Update Window. Cancel download works better on platforms that do not allow background downloading (i.e., Windows 98). Cancel download confirmation now clears the warning dialog if the download completes before the user decides whether to cancel or continue the download. Added support for extended characters (accented characters, etc.) in Change Listing.
• Changed Preferences keyboard shortcut to comma.
• DarkAdapted no longer attempts to update the gamma sliders when the Main Window is minimized.
• Minimized Main Window is now much smaller.
• Changed “Show More Detail” control caption to “Show Details.”
• Main Window now stores independent Main Window screen positions for its maximized and minimized modes.
• Presets menu and gamma sliders now update before the gamma fade begins.
• Changed “Bailout Keys” to “Gamma Toggle Keys.”
• DarkAdapted no longer requires all gamma toggle keys to be released before they again may be invoked.
• The default number of gamma fade steps is now 15.
• The default reporting of gamma values is now by percentages.
• The default value for sliders tracking the gamma values is now “off.”
• The preferences window now disallows the selection of less than two modifier keys, instead of allowing it but admonishing you about it when you go to save the preferences. ;-)
• The default state of the Main Window is now maximized.
• Fixed bug where some systems would fail to toggle back to previous gamma state after returning to full brightness.
